Terms of Service
These terms govern your access to and use of SignalBoard. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them.
Last updated July 15, 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a contract between you and SignalBoard ("SignalBoard," "we," "us," or "our") regarding your use of signalboard.app and related services (the "Service").
If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and "you" includes that organization.
Related: our Privacy Policy.
2. The Service
SignalBoard lets teams collect feature requests, run voting, publish roadmaps and changelogs, embed feedback widgets, and manage related workspace settings. Features may differ by plan (Free, Pro, or other tiers we offer).
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice when practical. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
3. Accounts
- You must provide accurate account information and keep it current.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping credentials secure.
- You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.
- Notify us promptly at hello@signalboard.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Workspaces, boards, and content
You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service ("Customer Content"), including posts, comments, roadmap items, changelogs, branding assets, and similar materials.
You grant SignalBoard a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, display, and transmit Customer Content solely as needed to provide and improve the Service (including duplicate detection, notifications, embeds, and public board pages you enable).
Workspace owners are responsible for Customer Content on their boards, including content submitted by guests and members. You represent that you have the rights to submit Customer Content and that it does not violate law or these Terms.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or abusive purposes
- Upload malware, scrape the Service without permission, or attempt to bypass rate limits or security controls
- Infringe intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of others
- Submit spam, harassment, or content that is illegal or that we reasonably consider abusive
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
- Resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties except as expressly allowed by your plan
We may remove content, suspend accounts, or terminate access for violations of these Terms.
6. Public boards and guest voting
Public boards and embeds may be visible to anyone with the URL. Guest voters may need to verify an email address. Do not collect or publish sensitive personal data on public boards unless you have a lawful basis and appropriate notices.
7. Plans, billing, and cancellation
Free plans are available subject to usage limits. Paid plans (including Pro) are billed through our payment provider. Fees, features, and limits are described on our pricing page and may change with notice.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled according to the billing settings in your workspace.
- Taxes may apply based on your location and our payment provider's rules.
- Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable for partial billing periods.
- If payment fails, we may downgrade, suspend, or limit paid features until payment succeeds.
8. Intellectual property
The Service—including software, design, trademarks, and documentation—is owned by SignalBoard and its licensors. These Terms do not grant you ownership of the Service. Feedback you send us may be used freely to improve the product without obligation to you.
9. Third-party services
The Service may integrate with third parties (for example OAuth providers, email delivery, payments, hosting, analytics, and AI providers). Their terms and privacy policies govern your use of those services. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT CONTENT WILL BE PRESERVED WITHOUT LOSS.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SIGNALBOARD AND ITS SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO SIGNALBOARD FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100) IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID ANY FEES.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
12. Indemnification
You will defend and indemnify SignalBoard against claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your Customer Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. Provisions that by nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, limitations, and indemnity) will survive.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms by posting a revised version on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and close your account.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where SignalBoard operates its primary business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory local consumer laws provide otherwise. Courts in that jurisdiction will have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protections.
