Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information SignalBoard collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are
SignalBoard ("SignalBoard," "we," "us," or "our") provides feature voting, public roadmaps, and changelogs for product teams. This Privacy Policy applies to signalboard.app and related services (the "Service").
Questions: hello@signalboard.app.
2. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address, name (if provided), and authentication data. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive basic profile information from that provider (such as email and display name) as permitted by their policies.
Board and feedback content
Workspace owners and members create boards, posts, comments, roadmap items, and changelog entries. Guests may submit feature requests and votes using an email address. We store this content so boards can function and so voters can receive status updates.
Guest voter verification
Guest voting uses a one-time email verification. After verification, we set a signed cookie so you can vote without verifying again on that browser. We store voter email addresses with votes and related notifications.
Billing information
Paid plans are processed by our payment provider (Dodo Payments). We store subscription and customer identifiers needed to manage your plan. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
Technical and usage data
We automatically collect certain technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, and pages or actions on the Service. We use this for security, rate limiting, debugging, and product analytics (including Vercel Analytics).
Communications
We send transactional emails (account verification, password reset, voter status updates, and similar). If you contact us, we keep the content of that correspondence.
3. How we use information
- Provide, operate, and improve the Service
- Authenticate users and verified voters
- Send transactional and product-related emails
- Detect duplicate feature requests using AI embeddings
- Process subscriptions and prevent abuse or fraud
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms
4. AI processing
To suggest duplicate posts, we may generate embeddings from post titles and descriptions using a third-party AI provider (for example, OpenAI). Content sent for embedding is used to power similarity matching within your board and is not used by SignalBoard to train public models.
5. How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share data only as needed to run the Service, including with:
- Infrastructure providers (hosting, database, and caching)
- Email delivery providers for transactional mail
- Payment processors for subscriptions
- AI providers for duplicate-detection embeddings
- Analytics providers for aggregated product usage
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale (with notice where appropriate).
Public boards make posts, vote counts, roadmaps, and published changelogs visible to anyone with the link. Do not submit sensitive personal information to a public board.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Keep you signed in (session cookies)
- Remember verified guest voters
- Measure product usage and reliability
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may prevent login or guest voting from working correctly.
7. Data retention
We retain account and board data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. After deletion or account closure, we remove or anonymize personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it for legal, security, or billing reasons. Backups may persist for a limited time before being overwritten.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, signed session and voter tokens, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use a strong unique password and keep your credentials private.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access, correct, or delete personal information
- Export data you provided to the Service
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
Workspace owners can manage board content from the dashboard. To request account deletion or exercise privacy rights, email hello@signalboard.app. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
11. International transfers
We may process and store information in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate. Those countries may have different data-protection laws than your own.
12. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may also be communicated by email or in-product notice where appropriate.
13. Contact
